Dan Nilsson attended Saint Thomas Academy, following in the footsteps of his brothers Jim '86 and Steve '89, and graduated in 1998.  Dan attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI on a Navy (Marine Option) ROTC scholarship and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology and Law Studies.  Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 2002.  Dan has been on numerous deployments around the globe.  He most recently received his current orders to assume command of Golf Company, 2d Battalion, 9th Marines in April, 2010 at Camp Lejeune, NC.
