Saint Thomas Academy will be participating in GiveMN’s 3rd Annual Give to the Max Day on November 16th. Give to the Max Day is a 24 hour online day of giving for nonprofit organizations in Minnesota. Saint Thomas Academy received just over $5,000.00 on last year’s Give to the Max Day and this year our goal is to double that.

 How can you help?

You can help through financial support and advocacy. The Advancement Office greatly appreciates all of the support that you have given to the Annual Fund and Defining Moment campaign. If you choose not to give a gift on November 16th, help us through advocacy and tell your friends and family about Give to the Max Day through email or share through your social media account. We appreciate any support that you can give.

Why Give to the Max Day?

Give to the Max Day is able to increase giving to nonprofit organizations through fun and engaging campaigns and significantly reduces overall fundraising costs associated with marketing. Give to the Max Day amplifies the impact of a donor’s gift in a number of ways. First, throughout the event an individual donor will be randomly chosen every hour to have $1,000.00 given to the charity that received the donor’s original donation. Second, the top three nonprofits organizations which receive the most dollars in 24 hours during Give to the Max Day will be awarded prize grants of $15,000.00, $10,000.00, and $5,000.00.

Another benefit to nonprofits is the amplified publicity they receive from the Give to the Max Day mass media campaign. Through social media, print, TV, and Radio, Give to the Mac Day is able to raise awareness about the needs of local nonprofits, the benefits of philanthropy and is able to inspire others to give. There will be local celebrities advocating the cause include Garrison Keillor, professional athletes from the Twins, Vikings, Lynx and local news anchors. There will be a live event at the Mall of America from 9am- 9pm including interviews with nonprofits and live performances by musicians and artist. Social media like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube will provide updates, highlight great donor/NPO stories, announce hourly “golden ticket” winners, and promote live events. Public service announcements will be aired on TPT and other TV stations as well as Radio and print media to cover the event.
